Please Welcome Leja LeBar to Nest!

Please Welcome Leja LeBar to Nest!

We are thrilled to announce that Leja LeBar has joined the Nest Atlanta team at eXp Realty! Leja LeBar comes to us after many years in the real estate business working with Sotheby’s Atlanta Fine Homes, Keller Williams Intown Atlanta and Digs Realty.  We can’t say enough about her and know that our fellow Atlantans will love working with her.  She’s a top notch Atlanta real estate professional and enjoys helping both buyers and home sellers from Grant Park to Buckhead.  Learn more about Leja below…. . About Leja LeBar Who would name a child “Leja?” Her parents Lea and John, of course. (they changed the “o” to an “a” to make this unusual name feminine.) What were they thinking? No one’s quite sure. In Swedish, Leja means “to hire.” In English, though, it apparently means “to sell real estate” – because Leja sells a lot of it. Why is she so successful? Leja (pronounced LEE-JAH) started her career at CNN as a muckety-muck in sales & marketing. Fourteen years later, she gave up 24-hour-news for around-the-clock-house-hunting. Turns out, she’s really, really good at it. Last year alone she helped 35 families find their new home. Leja has lived in Atlanta for 25+ years – in Buckhead, Midtown, Lake Claire and, most recently, Grant Park. She’s an expert on intown neighborhoods, both well established and newly emerging, and everything in between. Leja loves being a “dream maker” – whether her clients are buying their first home or selling their tenth. Plus, she makes the whole process, from open house to contract closing, feel like fun. (Relax. Enjoy. Really.) She is an Associate Broker, a member of the Atlanta Board of Realtors, Georgia Association of Realtor,...
Ready to Vote?

Ready to Vote?

READY TO VOTE, ATLANTA? This is shaping up to be one of the most interesting elections in our history and if you are on social media, you know that there are lots (and lots) of opinions about the current candidates.  We’re so thankful that we can freely voice our opinions, but it’s also important that we also exercise our right to VOTE! Georgia just set a new record for voter registration this year, but we want more Atlantans to get out there and register to vote if you haven’t already.  Below you will find some tips to get registered and vote this year…. The Georgia Secretary of State registers voters and oversees elections. On their website, www.sos.ga.gov, you can:  locate your voting location, register to vote, obtain key election dates, identify early voting locations and see sample ballots. To vote in the Presidential Election on November 8, 2016, you must be registered by October 11, 2016. Georgia law requires Georgia residents to show photo ID when voting in person. You may show a driver’s license (even if expired) , government employee ID, US passport, Military ID, Tribal ID, free ID card issued at any county registrar’s office or Driver Services (DDS) office or certain College Student ID. If you vote early there are numerous locations in your county in which you can vote. Early voting for the Presidential Election begins October 17, 2016. A list of locations and the hours/days (Saturday hours are available at some locations) for voting at those locations is available on the Georgia Secretary of State website listed above. If you vote on election day,...
It’s Time to Apply for Your Homestead Exemption

It’s Time to Apply for Your Homestead Exemption

Ready to Apply for Your Georgia Homestead Exemption? If you purchased a home in Georgia last year and were the owner of the home as of January 1, 2016, you can apply for your county homestead exemption that will reduce your property taxes, usually by at least 20%, depending on the county that you live in. As a homeowner, you may need to provide a copy of your Warranty Deed book and page, proof of residence, social security numbers, driver’s license and car tag info. In most Georgia counties, to be eligible for homestead exemption for the current year, you must have owned and occupied the property as of January 1st. If the property is located within city limits (i.e. City of Atlanta or City of Decatur), you may be required to file a homestead application with the city as well.  Because every Georgia county has a slightly different homestead application process and homestead deadline, so look for your county below and follow the simple instructions!
