Atlanta Science Festival
When: March 9-23 Where: Various locations Cost: Most events are free, some are paid Details: The science behind the scenes at Clorox, what happens to your water before it reaches your cup, and the astrobiology of Star Wars—this festival of more than 100 lectures, tours, and showcases around Atlanta is said to be the “biggest interactive family science event.”
Shamrock-n-Roll Road Race
When: March 16 Where: Atlantic Station Details: The 5K and 10K take off at 8:30 a.m. with the Kids 1K at 10 a.m. Dogs and strollers are allowed in this fun run that benefits the Junior League of Atlanta. Get the full scoop.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade
When: March 16 @ 12 noon Where: Peachtree Street in Midtown Atlanta Cost: Free Details: Bagpipes, drums, drill teams, and floats will be traveling through Midtown to celebrate Irish heritage at “one of the country’s oldest parades.” Don’t forget to wear green and get there early for the best spot!
