Virginia Highland Real Estate Market Update :: Spring 2017A total of 26 homes sold in the second quarter of 2017. That's down about 20% from the same time last year. On a good note, the lower inventory helped to drive up the average sales price from $803K to $847K -- a $44,000 (or 5.5%) increase from the same time last year. Virginia Highland homes ranged in price from $500,000 to $1,550,000. Because of the low inventory, homes that were priced at fair market value were FLYING off the shelves. The median was only 8 days on the market! The average number of days that it took to sell a home was 57, but if you look at the Virginia Highland home sales at the bottom of this report, you'll see that 50% sold in one week or less. Those that were priced a bit too high when they initially listed the home, took 40 to 210 days to sell. The VAHI homes that sold quickly also sold sold for top dollar. 42% of the homes sold at 100% or more of the listing price!
